Pekado here just giving another how to DIY promoting your
own bands, and what better way to show you then to show you the end result,
therefore, he I am launching yet another;
Skcitssa Would
Like: to promote and explain how to make a DIY video for you band. First, I
must begin by informing that the computer I am using is MAC. However, I believe
that one can purchase video editing programs, which would work as good or
better. Still I believe it should be a good warning, don’t have programs, it
might take a little longer to edit however, I now that there is ways including
smart phone applications that can upload edit video in minutes.
First, I believe a short plug of Skcitssa’s new song and
video for Trash & Treasure. Just a little on the song, which was written in
2008, shortly after my departure of prison. I had been in the transitional home
for two months and was taking Austin, Texas transited seeking for a job and
missing my daughters and recalling the issue I made under my addictions to
narcotics. The song was recorded various times live including on the debt split
album of ASSTICKS and SKCITSSA under the name, “Fresh Outta Detox/ Skcitssa vs.
The State of Texas”. In 2010, with it’s continued hits with the fan base, the
diction of placing the single on the studio LP was decided by the band. Album,
“… and they say, “We are destroying our youth?” is scheduled to be released by
the up coming year. The video was filmed in two different tour shows in San
Antonio, Texas, Laredo, Texas, and Austin, Texas, other parts where done during
the recording of the bass track at the studio in Houston, Texas and finally,
the head shots where taken in a restroom in a rattrap trailer in Sargent, TX.
The actual video was created with no concept or story line;
however, the choice of placing one is up to the creator, the director and band.
I suggest using life video it makes it easier to work with to place in sync
with music, however, if you are like SKCITSSA, you have video for every song
but that one. Do not fret, it can still work, that is where your editing skills
come in. It all comes to the creator’s eye and ideas but it only takes copy
paste knowledge to apply on iMovie. Second, do not for get to take your time it
the video has sound, delete the sound, if you want to add transitions make sure
you play the video to make sure time is still in proper place. Finally, place
creates and share to file on desktop for easy access for social media.
